What is this demonstration about?
Sheikh
Abu Hamza has been unjustly held captive in the UK since 2004 for bogus
charges inflamed by years of vilification courtesy of the British
media. During this period he has faced constant humiliation, isolation
as well as a general lack of medical
attention for his already deteriorating health.
Unsatisfied
with all of this Home Secretary Jacqui Smith formally approved further
charges related to alleged terrorism offences committed between 1998
and 2000 on orders of the US government.
After
enduring years of mental and physical torture Sheikh Abu Hamza now
faces life imprisonment or the death penalty if extradited to the US.
"What are you going to do about it?"
Our duties towards Sheikh Abu Hamza
It
has been narrated by Anas bin Malik (ra) that Prophet Muhammad
(saw) said, "Support your Muslim brother whether he is an oppressor or
oppressed." [Sahih Bukhari]
As
Muslims living in the UK, it is our duty to support Sheikh Abu Hamza to
the best of our capabilities. Releasing Muslim hostages in Islam
is one the greatest obligations and consequently must take
priority.
Sheikh Abu Hamza is an innocent Muslim and a victim of the so-called 'War on Terror' or 'War on Islam' and he needs your support.
In
light of this a demonstration has been organized demanding his release
as well as to condemn the brutality of the British regime towards
the other numerous Muslim detainees held around the UK.
